Assess and treat less complex bladder and bowel symptoms such as urgency, urge incontinence, mixed incontinence, incontinence due to cognitive, mobility and dexterity issues, faecal incontinence and constipation.
They provide:
- Rectal examinations
- Bladder scans
- External vaginal examination
- Urinalysis
- Skin integrity assessments
Advanced practitioner and specialist nurses
Assess and treat more complex bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction such as stress incontinence, pelvic floor muscle weakness, mild to moderate vaginal prolapse, recurrent urine infections, neurogenic bladder and bowel issues, voiding difficulty.
They provide:
- Rectal and vaginal examinations
- Pelvic floor muscle assessment
- Individualised pelvic floor muscle exercise plans
- Trans-anal irrigation training
- Anal sphincter exercise training
- Intermittent self-catheterisation training
Associate Practitioners
Assess, review and offer basic treatment advice for non-complex bladder symptoms such as urge or functional incontinence
They provide:
- Bladder scans
- Pad weighing
- External vaginal examinations
- Urinalysis
- Skin examination
