New sexual health clinics coming to Hornsea and Withernsea

30 March, 2016

Clinics for women and men will soon be available in Hornsea and Withernsea thanks to Conifer sexual and reproductive healthcare services, run by City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) in association with East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Public Health team.

All clinics will offer free and confidential advice and treatment, including screening for sexually transmitted infections, contraception (including the Pill, patch, implant and injection and a booked ‘coil’ clinic once a month), free condoms, pregnancy testing and advice and guidance.

Clinics in Withernsea will start on 5 April 2016 and will then take place every Tuesday at 5pm to 7.15pm at South Holderness Medical Practice on Queen Street. Hornsea clinics will run on Fridays at Hornsea Cottage Hospital between 9am and 12pm, starting on 8 April 2016.

Tracy Vickers, care group director at CHCP CIC, said, “We are delighted to be able to provide these clinics as part of our new integrated sexual health service, as part of our mission to enable as many people as possible to get the advice and treatment they need.”

Mike McDermott, Associate Director of Public Health, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “As a commissioner we strive to increase access for Sexual Health services across the East Riding and the introduction of the clinics in Hornsea and Withernsea are important for the resident population.”
