Local health and care provider CHCP CIC are celebrating today after achieving UNICEF baby-friendly accreditation for their children and young people’s services for the second time.

Safer Sleep Week is an annual campaign run by the Lullaby Trust to raise awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and the safer sleep advice that reduces the risk of it occurring.  Sadly around 5 babies a week die from SIDS. If all parents were aware of safer sleep advice many lives could be saved.

As a parent, you want what’s best for your kids, but it’s not always easy to know what that is. When children become teenagers, the pressures of puberty, exams and establishing independence are enough to put a strain on even the best family relationships. Add mental health issues to the mix and that’s a big challenge for any parent.

The local community children’s nursing team, including Sunshine House, a service for children and young people with long term or life limiting conditions, has achieved the Investing in Children Membership Award, which recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative practice with children and young people.

The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) has announced the eleven nurse-led projects that will benefit from funding and a year-long professional development programme. A local project led by a Hull health visitor from City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC), is one of the recipients.

Between 2014 and 2015, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) claimed the lives of 266 babies in Yorkshire and the Humber.

On Tuesday 11th October I.M.P.S. (Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools), run by City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) celebrated 15 years of helping year 6 pupils to help save lives.

It’s World Breastfeeding Week from 1 to 7 August and thousands of breastfeeding women and their babies and children across the world will gather in their own communities to take part in the Global Big Latch On, a synchronized breastfeeding event in multiple locations

Will Dennison, (11), recently came to his friend’s rescue using skills learned on an IMPS (Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools) training course run by City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC). IMPS have trained over 27,700 year 6 pupils since the project was first launched in 2001.

Safer Sleep Week runs from 14 to 20 March and experts from City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) and partners from the Hull and East Riding Infant Safe Sleep working group are reminding parents to think about where their babies are sleeping.
