Nutrition and Dietetics
Our team dietitians and dietetic associate practitioners provide specialist nutritional advice to help prevent and treat disease as well as improve health and wellbeing.
We offer a range of face-to-face appointments, including clinics, home visits for housebound patients, video calls and telephone appointments, depending on patient preference, need and availability. We also provide group education sessions.
Our community based service is for adults with a Hull or East Riding GP and children with a Hull GP*, supporting with the following:
- Adults with enteral tubes (Equipment and feed required for enteral tubes can be delivered to your home)
- Significant, unintentional weight loss or a BMI < 18.5kg/m2 due to a medical condition/ill health where a nutritional assessment is required to assess the need for oral nutritional supplements
- Low growth in children
- Newly diagnosed coeliac disease
- Feeding difficulties in children including delayed weaning, fussy eating, and selective eating
- Nutritional deficiencies
- A diagnosed allergy or intolerance to a certain food
- A diagnosed digestive condition such as irritable bowel syndrome or diverticular disease
- Gastrointestinal issues such as toddler diarrhoea or constipation
- Weight loss and healthy lifestyle support if overweight or obese
*Children with an East Riding GP should be referred to the East Riding Paediatric Dietitians based in Pocklington
