Facilities & Useful Information

Laundry

There are no facilities to wash your clothes at Rossmore. Therefore, we would be grateful if you could arrange for family, friends, or a laundry service to collect and wash these for you.

Televisions

We do not have televisions at every bedspace, we encourage patients to use the dining room where a large television is located. 

If you have a tablet or device that you use to watch television you can bring it with you. Please ask a staff member for the WiFi details.

Infection Prevention & Control

As a service we have a responsibility to maintain high standards of cleanliness to reduce the risk of cross infection. The room you are staying in will be cleaned at on a schedule and as required. Please let the staff know if you need extra cleaning, for example, for a spillage.

Volunteers

We are fortunate to have volunteers who visit the unit regularly during the week to talk to patients. This service has been welcomed by many.

if you would like to continue with this service after discharge, you can apply to the Befriending Service. Please let staff know if this is something you are interested in.

Parking

Paid for parking is available at the hospital.

Smoking/Vaping

Smoking is not permitted on Rossmore premises or grounds in line with government legislation.

Alcohol & Drugs

You or your visitors must not bring alcohol or drugs onto the unit. If visitors visit while under the influence or are found to possess alcohol or drugs, they will be asked to leave the premises.

Zero Tolerance

Verbal and physical abuse towards staff, patients or visitors will not be tolerated. This could result in services being withdrawn from you, and you may be asked to leave the premises. The decision may be made to call the police.

Fire Procedure

The fire alarm is tested weekly – we will let you know when tests are due. If the fire alarm sounds at any other time, you will need to evacuate the building.
