Tuberculosis (TB)

Our Tuberculosis (TB) nurses have specialist knowledge of TB, its management and control.

The TB Nursing team provides:

  • Information about TB infection.
  • BCG vaccinations for children who meet a specific criteria (set by the Department of Health).
  • Screening if you have just arrived in the UK from a country where there are high incidences of TB.
  • Screening if you have come into contact with someone with infectious TB and have been identified through contact tracing.
  • Screening needed before certain medical treatments
  • Treatment for latent TB infections (no symptoms)
  • Treatment for active TB infections (with symptoms)

Appointments are available across Hull and East Riding clinics. If you are housebound, you can be seen at home. You may also need to be treated in hospital if you have an active infection.
