CHCP Foundation Charity Funds Menopaus'ull for Workshops and Events
13 December, 2024
City Health Care Partnership’s Foundation Charity has given funding to Neighbourhood Network’s Menopaus'ull Support Network, enabling them to host a series of workshops and events aimed at supporting people going through menopause. This initiative is designed to support women before, during and after menopause.
The funded activities included a variety of enriching experiences such as a stained-glass workshop, social gatherings and the Menopause Event held on October 26th at Princes Quay. This featured expert speakers who provided crucial insights and support to attendees.
A standout session was the gong soundbath workshop, the final activity sponsored by the Foundation. Sound baths, known for their deep relaxation and stress-reducing benefits, are particularly helpful for those experiencing menopause. The session was led by Lesley from Health in Harmony, who specializes in sound baths and menopause care.
Lesley said, “The sound baths really help with the ladies' anxiety as they are very calming.”
Participants initially felt nervous about the session, but afterwards many reported a significant reduction in anxiety and expressed gratitude for the experience.
Lucy from Menopaus'ull commented, “By offering different services and workshops, the ladies that attend can try something new and have new experiences. It’s a pick and mix; what works for one might not work for another. We had one lady attend the social and now she’ll be running a session!”
These workshops and events have made a significant positive impact, providing valuable resources and fostering a supportive community for women navigating menopause. The initiative has empowered participants to explore new activities, connect with others, and find effective ways to manage their menopause journey.
