City Health Care Partnership passes 21st CQC inspection

City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) has just passed the 21st inspection of its services with flying colours.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) found that the Westbourne Centre, which provides a range of services including deep-vein thrombosis, anti-coagulation, GP out of hours, physiotherapy, pain management and Telehealth, met all its essential standards.

In an unannounced inspection, CQC inspectors talked to patients and staff, looked at treatment records and checked out the building. Their report says that treatment rooms ‘were clean, tidy and appropriately maintained’ and that patients were complimentary about the staff. Any complaints were recorded and acted on and patients were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

One patient who the inspectors spoke to said, "The staff checked my medical history and they told me I was making positive progress in my treatment. I would recommend the health centre to any of my friends or family." The report says that reception staff were polite, courteous and helpful. 

Lynda Whincup, operational director for adult services at CHCP CIC, said, “We’re delighted that the inspectors found their visit to Westbourne so positive. Out of the 21 inspections that CQC have undertaken in our services since we formed in 2010, every standard reviewed has been met. 

“I think the dedication and commitment of our staff comes through in this report and I’d like to thank all of them for helping to provide such a first-class service to our patients.”
