City Health Care Partnership staff in Bridge charity walk
16 October, 2013
As part of the launch of the new City Health Care Partnership Foundation, staff from City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) and their friends and families will be walking across the Humber Bridge on Saturday 5 August to raise money for the charity.
The walk also celebrates the end of CHCP CIC’s participation in the Global Corporate Challenge (GCC), a worldwide initiative to get people moving and taking part in physical activity. 322 CHCP CIC employees entered the GCC, many of them throwing themselves enthusiastically into the challenge. One person managed to walk the Three Peaks (26 miles) and then run a marathon on the same day!
As part of the event on Saturday, staff who did the GCC have been asked to nominate individuals and teams who have really embraced the challenge. Many have gone on to include much more exercise in their daily lives and the Humber Bridge walk is a way of encouraging and celebrating this, but staff have also been raising money through sponsorship for the new Foundation.
Since the Foundation was registered with the Charity Commission in April this year, it has committed £15,000 to community groups and staff fundraisers.
