Foundation funds for community groups

24 June, 2014

Over £5,000 was handed out to voluntary and non-profit organisations last week as City Health Care Partnership Foundation (CHCP Foundation) awarded its latest round of small grants.

City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) set up CHCP Foundation last year as part of its commitment to invest into the local communities in which they provide services.

CHCP CIC’s chief executive Andrew Burnell said, “As a social business, CHCP CIC is all about putting something back, whether it’s into our local communities, our staff or our services. Setting up the Foundation as our charity has meant that we can give money to voluntary and community groups who really need it to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the areas where we work.”

The CHCP Foundation awards these grants four times a year and the latest beneficiaries include a rugby team for under 12 year olds, a parent and toddler group and an over 55s club that arranges trips and social events to tackle loneliness and isolation. As well as handing out small grants to community projects and events, CHCP Foundation also offers staff sponsorship, giving CHCP CIC staff members the chance to apply for sponsorship for charitable activities.

The latest round of staff sponsorships saw £3,000 handed out to four half-marathon runners and two people taking part in full marathons, raising money for, among others, British Lung Foundation and the NSPCC.
