Have you got the smile factor?

17 May, 2011

National Smile Month is being celebrated between 15 May and 15 June, and City Health Care Partnership CIC are supporting this year’s campaign to put the smile back on peoples’ faces and help them display their full personalities with the ‘Smile Factor’ campaign.

City Health Care Partnership’s Dental Health Team will be at St. Stephen’s Shopping Centre on Tuesday 24 May from 9am – 4pm, sharing advice and information on a wide range of different dental health issues. Along with balloons and stickers for the kids, people can find information on accessing treatment if they are having trouble finding a dentist.

“We are delighted to get involved in National Smile Month. There are strong links between good oral health and your general wellbeing so it’s important we ensure people have all the information they need on how to access dental care and look after their teeth properly,” explained City Health Care Partnership Dental Health Educator, Ingrid Perry.

National Smile Month is an annual initiative organised by the British Dental Health Foundation to raise dental health awareness of the general public and is now on its 35 year. The Foundation’s three key messages are to brush teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend, and cut down on how often you have sugary snacks or drinks.
