Local health care provider gets more national recognition
15 November, 2013
Hot on the heels of having four teams shortlisted in the prestigious Nursing Times Awards, City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) came away from the Employee Ownership Awards on 12 November with Highly Commended in the Business of the Year category, sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
The Awards were held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham and celebrated the growing success of employee ownership as a business model. They were part of the Employee Owners conference, at which CHCP CIC’s chief executive Andrew Burnell was asked to deliver a session on the benefits of employee ownership in public service organisations. He took the audience through how CHCP CIC is improving and expanding, bringing benefits not only to its patients but to the local community through reinvestment of profits.
“It’s great to have our work recognised in this way,” said Andrew. “Our continuing success is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the staff at CHCP CIC. As co-owners of the business, our staff shareholders have a real stake in helping us to grow and improve and provide the best quality health services to our patients.”
