Men’s health is anything but trivial at quiz night
25 May, 2011
It’s Men’s Health Week from June 13 and City Health Care Partnership are trying to persuade men in Hull and the East Riding to find out more about keeping themselves fit and healthy by holding a quiz and comedy night at Ruscadors Pub on Queen Street in Hull.
The event on Thursday June 16 from 7.30pm will be attended by players from both Hull KR and Hull FC rugby league teams and is an opportunity to take part in a FREE ‘health themed’ quiz where prizes include signed rugby memorabilia, tickets to see Hull FC and gym membership.
At the same time there will be the opportunity to have a blood pressure and cholesterol check, pick up a free health pack, 5 minute Man MOT booklet or have a chat with health professionals specialising in men’s health issues.
June Agius, Clinical Nurse Specialist said, “Men can sometimes be uneasy at going for health checks or talking with health professionals about any concerns they may have and can often ignore health issues for long periods of time. This evening is an opportunity for us to take healthcare outside the clinic and to local men so they can find out more or ask questions in a relaxed, informal environment. You take your cars in for an MOT every year so why not book one for your health?”
Local comedian, Andy Train will be hosting the evening and there will also be a raffle raising money for bowel cancer and the British Heart Foundation.
If you want to take part in the quiz you must register you team of up to six people beforehand by contacting June on 07854 452332 or emailing june.agius1@chcphull.nhs.uk. If you just want to find out more information but don't want to take part in the quiz then please feel free to turn up on the night.
