New medical director for CHCP CIC
20 October, 2014
Hull GP Dr Mark Findley is taking over as Medical Director of City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC), as previous Medical Director Dr Kate Guthrie has been seconded to apart-time post at Public Health England.
Dr Findley has worked part-time with CHCP CIC since the company was formed in 2010 and has worked full-time as a clinical director since August 2013. He is a GP at Kingston Medical Centre on Beverley Road and was previously a partner at St Andrew’s Group Practice for nearly 20 years.
As well as being Medical Director, Dr Findley will be the Responsible Officer for the organisation. He explained, “Part of my role will be to ensure that our doctors and nurses practise safely and that their work is of the highest quality. In order for me to carry out the functions of Responsible Officer, as an organisation we need to have robust systems of appraisal and clinical governance to ensure that our doctors are up-to-date and fit to practise.
“Kate is moving on to a new challenge as Clinical Expert in Social and Reproductive Health whilst continuing her practice in Hull, so I will take over these roles. I’ve already started this work and it’s extremely interesting; I’ve built up good working relationships with various levels of management and I’m looking forward to getting to grips with all aspects of the job.”
