Praise from Westminster for City Health Care Partnership
25 November, 2013
Rt Hon Francis Maude
The Rt Hon Francis Maude, Minister for the Cabinet Office, has written to City Health Care Partnership CIC to express his personal congratulations on the organisation being highly commended at this year’s national Baxendale Awards.
In a letter to CHCP CIC’s chief executive Andrew Burnell, Mr Maude says that the business has ‘transformed opportunities in the provision of health and social care […] leading to improved outcomes for local communities in what are undoubtedly challenging times for public service delivery.’
CHCP CIC provides community health and integrated social care to people in Hull, the East Riding and Knowsley, Merseyside, and is an employee-owned organisation, or ‘mutual’. Andrew Burnell is a Cabinet Office Mutuals Ambassador, promoting this model and its ability to deliver exceptional public services to businesses across the country.
‘We have shown that the mutuals model can provide top-quality health care and that it works really well for public services,’ said Andrew. ‘And it’s great to know that Francis Maude and his colleagues in Government agree that change and innovation of this kind rely on what he calls “the public sector entrepreneurship” shown by our staff here at CHCP CIC.’
