Prizes dished up for healthy eating designs

Local health care provider City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) has been handing out prizes to children who won a recent colouring competition they organised as part of Playday. 

Playday is a national event held in August across the UK, with children and their families encouraged to get out and play at community events across the UK. In Hull a number of organisations, including CHCP CIC, held an event in Queens Gardens on 6th August.

As part of the celebrations members of staff from CHCP CIC’s children and young people services had a stall which promoted healthy eating, as part of the stall they held a competition for children to design a healthy lunchboxes or a healthy meal.

Declan Wood (11), Sophie Gregory (5) and Sophie Rushworth (4) were selected as winners and were presented with their prizes on Monday 18th August at the Orchard Centre on Orchard Park Road, Hull.

Angela Richardson, Community Nursery Nurse for CHCP CIC, said, “The Playday was a huge success and helps show how vital play is to children, their health, wellbeing and development.”
