Proud health staff have a day to remember

31 October, 2013

The Nursing Times Awards were held last night at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, with City Health Care Partnership CIC up for a total of four awards, in the categories of Emergency and Critical Care, Nursing in Mental Health, Nursing in the Community and Excellence in Supporting Staff Health and Wellbeing.

Unfortunately CHCP CIC didn’t bring any awards back with them, but to be shortlisted in four different categories at a national event was a great achievement. Even though they came home empty handed, a few members of staff did have the chance to enjoy lunch with Prince Charles at a reception held at Clarence House.

The invitation to meet the Prince of Wales was sent to Andrew Burnell, Chief Executive, Dee Howarth of Men Need Sheds and Louise Walters, A&E Liaison. They were offered this opportunity in recognition of the great work they have carried out.

Before meeting the Prince, Louise Walters said, “I’m very nervous about meeting Prince Charles, but also extremely excited at the same time. It will be a proud moment for me personally, but the full team deserves credit for the work we do.”

Andrew Burnell, Chief Executive of CHCP CIC said, “It was a pleasure to meet Prince Charles, and very nice to have our fantastic work recognised. Even though we came home empty handed it is still a proud day for City Health Care Partnership”
