Sexual health patients say service is ‘fantastic’

04 November, 2013

A patient survey currently running in City Health Care Partnership CIC’s (CHCP CIC) community gynaecology service shows that patients are more than happy with the care they’re getting. Community gynaecology is based at Conifer in the Wilberforce Health Centre in Hull.

The survey is part of the NHS Friends and Family test, which is being piloted in community services by CHCP CIC. It asks patients how likely they would be to recommend the service they have used. The survey started in community gynaecology at the beginning of October and so far 69 patients have responded. Of these, 68 said they would be ‘extremely likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend the service. Comments included, ‘Lady I saw was fantastic, listened and I didn't feel rushed. She made my husband a part of it and even gave us advice for our daughter. Absolutely brilliant’; ‘The care I received was great, couldn't of asked for more!’; ‘After 20 years of suffering can see an end to it. Very caring & efficient!! Cheers’.

Carol Waudby, director of specialist community services for CHCP CIC, is delighted with the results. ‘It’s great to see that patients are really getting some benefit from the service and that they are happy with it. We will carry on monitoring the results and addressing any issues if they crop up as there’s always room for improvement, but I’m really pleased to see that our sexual health team is providing the service that people want.’
