Three Peaks Challenge Hits the Target

24 January, 2013

In September last year 38 members of staff at City Health Care Partnership (CHCP CIC) took part in the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks Challenge, which saw the group walk 24 miles, climb 6,000 feet and conquer three of Yorkshires toughest mountains – all in aid of charity.

We are pleased to report that not only did all return safe and sound, they also raised a whopping total of £6,000 – to split between The Echoes Foundation and Yorkshire Cancer Research, who have both expressed their gratitude.

“City Health Care Partnership CIC have made a significant achievement in both completing the Three Peaks Challenge and raising a fantastic amount of money for us here at The Echoes Foundation and their other chosen charity. We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks for their time, effort and donation.” Alison Thompson from The Echoes Foundation.

This money will be presented to the charities on Friday 25th January at 2.30pm in the board room of CHCP CIC’s headquarters at Priory Park. This will be presented by a number of the walkers, who have all just about recovered.

Sally Crerar, Head of Community Fundraising at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said:

“We are delighted to receive such a huge donation from the staff at City Health Care Partnership CIC following their Three Peaks Challenge. We greatly appreciate the time and effort they have spent, both in raising money and in training for the challenge. The money raised will help us move one step closer to improving the way we prevent, diagnose, treat and deal with the after-effects of cancer.”

Please let us know of any ideas for this year’s CHCP CIC challenge, an early favourite (among staff at least) is a sponsored spa day.
