Charity cash for community groups

17 September, 2014

Nine voluntary and non-profit organisations have benefitted from the latest round of small grants handed out by City Health Care Partnership Foundation (CHCP Foundation). The latest beneficiaries include an under 7s rugby league team, an over 55s drama group and a black and minority ethnic community group.

City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) set up CHCP Foundation as part of its commitment to invest into the local communities where they provide services. As a community interest company, CHCP CIC reinvests any profits into community projects and events.

Since starting with the small grants scheme in 2010 CHCP CIC and CHCP Foundation have awarded over £150,000 to over 200 organisations and projects.

CHCP CIC’s Social Business and Public Relations Director and chair of CHCP Foundation Denise Anderton said, “CHCP Foundation serves an important function to CHCP CIC’s commitment of putting something back into the local communities. The latest grants have gone towards some excellent projects, which will help to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the areas where we work.”

As well as providing grants to community projects and events, CHCP Foundation also provides a staff sponsorship scheme, giving CHCP CIC staff members the chance to apply for sponsorship for charitable activities.

This round has seen staff sponsored for activities including a 10km run, a 100km bike ride and one member of staff is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Between them they are raising money for charities such as Yorkshire Air Ambulance, NSPCC and the Daisy Appeal.
