Continence Care
We offer assessment, advice, support and treatment for enuresis (involuntary weeing, especially at night - Hull GP only) and idiopathic constipation (constipation without a known cause - Hull & East Riding).
Provision and review of continence products for all children and young people across Hull and East Riding, following a plan of toileting intervention and assessment of clinical need, once the child is over 4 years of age.
Specialist Continence Needs: Nursing advice and support for children and young people with specialist continence needs, for example, Catheterisation – indwelling or intermittent, Mitrofanoff, Cystoscopy, Stoma, ACE procedure– Antegrade Colonic Enema, Anal irrigation.
Training Parents and Carers: Structured training and support for parents and carers utilising on-line resources, face to face practical demonstration and support, and competency packages.
Transition Planning: Support for young people aged 14 years and over with long term health needs, to help them move into adult health services.
