Treatment
FREED
FREED is First Episode Rapid Early Intervention for Eating Disorders. It helps young people who are 18 to 25 years old who have had an eating disorder for three years or less.
You are given rapid access to specialised treatment which gives special attention to challenges we know young people face in the early stages of an eating disorder.
MANTRA
The Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA) is a talking therapy for adults with anorexia nervosa that includes support for carers.
MANTRA addresses things that can maintain anorexic symptoms such as anxiety, being a perfectionist and a tendency to avoid emotional experiences.
Your strengths, resources, goals and values will be explored to create a 'plan' of your illness which will help guide your treatment. This can include changing your behaviour patterns and helping you develop new skills which can lead to changes in your eating behaviour.
CBT-E
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It works on how the following 5 areas are connected and can affect each other: situations, thoughts, emotions, physical feelings, and behaviours.
CBT-E is 'enhanced cognitive behaviour therapy' and is one of the most effective treatments for eating disorders. It can be used for all forms of eating disorder and generally involves an initial assessment appointment followed by 20 treatment sessions. CBT-E is a highly personalised treatment that goes through four stages: formulation and stabilising eating, review, addressing the maintenance factors of your illness and relapse management planning.
CBT-T
CBT-T is a time-limited talking therapy lasting ten sessions - the ‘T’ stands for ten.
It starts by addressing safety issues before helping to change your eating behaviour, beliefs about food and body image. It also helps to manage your anxiety or other emotional concerns.
We hope to see positive changes early in the process of this treatment and progress is reviewed at session 4. CBT-T has been shown to help people suffering from bulimia nervosa or very similar disorders.
Specialist Supportive Clinical Management
This is a treatment for Anorexia Nervosa that combines clinical management and supportive psychotherapy. It is designed to be supportive and theraputic, helping to motivate you to change your eating behaviours and establish, re-establish or maintain a healthy weight.
You will receive elements of therapy and education to learn about eating disorders, nutritional advice and support in making changes. SSCM is flexible to your needs so that any further issues affecting your eating can be dealt with as they arise.
Working to Overcome Eating Difficulties (WTOED)

The course will also help you re-establish a healthy balanced, regular eating pattern.

You will develop an action plan to aid your recovery journey once you're discharged from Evolve. You will also be encouraged to identify support networks that you can access for help.
Coping with Festivals
If you are worried about or struggle with festivals or celebrations such as Christmas, birthdays, Easter, holidays, graduations or any other celebratory event which is often associated with food, this can help.
