Evolve Hull community eating disorder service open day

20 February, 2019

It’s Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) from 25 February to 3 March and Hull’s community eating disorder service, Evolve, is opening its doors to the public for a day.

Eating disorders do not discriminate and can affect people from every gender, ethnicity, sexuality, age or background. Eating Disorders Awareness Week aims to break down barriers and show everyone that they are worthy of help and support.

Evolve, run by City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP) is working to fight the stigma and stereotypes that surround anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and any other specified feeding or eating disorder. The service is holding an open day on 25 February to give members of the public the chance to look around the fantastic day service, learn more about the treatments and services on offer and meet the Evolve team.

Evolve are based at the Calvert Centre on Calvert Lane in Hull; if you’d like to come along to the open day, any time between 10am and 4pm, please book so we know how many people to expect.

The earlier someone gets the right treatment for their eating disorder, the more likely they are to make a full and sustained recovery. The Evolve team will be out and about in Hull during EDAW to talk to people about eating disorders, how to recognise the signs and symptoms and where to go for help.
