Facilities & Accomodation

While you are receiving care and rehabilitation at Holy Name, your capability and health may improve greatly. As
this happens, you may need to move rooms so that we can make sure our facilities and equipment are best suited
to you and the other people using the service. The care you originally came to Holy Name for may be reviewed as
your needs may change.

There are 64 beds at Holy Name including those for permanent redsidents as well as rehabilitation patients:

  • All rooms are single with furniture, a TV and en-suite facilities with specialist equipment such as hoists,
    commodes and handrails as needed.
  • A rehabilitation kitchen will help you regain your skills in the kitchen so that you can go home with the skills you
    need to live independently.
  • There is an on-call nursing system in every room for assistance and emergency calls only. Staff answer the calls as soon as possible. There can be up to 64 patients at Holy Name so it can become busy at peak times.
  • Communal areas with TVs.
  • Large dining area where you can socialise with other patients while enjoying your meal, with doors on to a secure garden area.
  • A large physiotherapy room to use throughout your rehabilitation journey.
  • Toilet, bathing, and shower facilities are available throughout the home.
  • Choices of menus at mealtimes.
  • Please tell the staff if you have any dietary requirements or allergies or any likes or dislikes.

Chiropody

We can arrange private in-house appointments for you on your behalf, but you are responsible for the cost.

Hairdresser

We have a hairdresser who visits weekly, but you are repsonsible for the cost.

Laundry

We don’t have the facilities to do your washing at Highfield so please arrange for your family or friends to do this for you. Holy Name is not responsible for any loss of or damage to clothing.

Pets

Your pets can be brought to visit you at Holy Name, but they must be up to date with all their vaccinations and proof of this must be shown to the admin team.

Parking

There is free but limited car parking at Holy Name. Please use designated parking bays and keep the main doors
and turning bays clear for emergency vehicles. You are responsible for the safety of your own property while your
vehicle is in the car park.

Smoking

City Health Care Partnership CIC has a no smoking policy on all its sites in accordance with government legislation.
Smoking is not permitted on Holy Name premises or grounds, except for patients. There is an allocated
smoking shelter in one of the courtyard areas, but this is strictly for patients only.

Alcohol and drugs

Alcohol and drugs must not be brought into Holy Name. If you are found to be in possession or under
the influence of these, you may be asked to leave the premises.

Fire procedure

We have a weekly fire alarm test and a monthly fire drill which is carried out by the caretaker. Patients are
informed when the alarm is about to be tested to avoid confusion. If you hear the fire alarm, you must take
immediate action and follow the instructions of the fire wardens on duty and the emergency services.

Taxi service

A taxi can be arranged if you wish to attend appointments privately, but there is a cost for this service.
