Physiotherapy MSK - East Riding

The Physiotherapy MSK (musculoskeletal) service in the East Riding of Yorkshire is an outpatient physiotherapy service for adults and children aged 5 years and above. You must be registered with an East Riding GP to use this service.

They help with problems affecting:

  • Bones
  • Muscle
  • Joints
  • Tendons
  • Ligaments
  • Nerves

For example:

  • After surgery, such as a knee replacement or shoulder operation
  • After a fracture
  • Arthritic joints, for example osteoarthritis of the knee
  • Back or neck pain
  • Soft tissue conditions such as ankle sprain, tendinitis and ‘frozen shoulder’

Musculoskeletal physiotherapists have specialist training to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions. They will be able to help you manage your problem instead of going to your GP.

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is about us helping you to become more mobile, active and productive in your daily life by helping you get back movement and function. We want you to be able to be as independent as possible if you've had an accident, illness, injury or disability.

We do not see patients whose main problem is:

  • Neurological, such as Multiple Sclerosis or after a stroke
  • Respiratory (breathing) problems
  • Rehabilitation-based problems, such as falls and amputees.
  • Bladder problems like incontinence or vaginal prolapse
  • Dizziness or vertigo
