A new service for 2022 - The Residential Care Home Project
The Residential Care Home Project is a collaborative piece of work with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. It has been created initially to target a number of care homes in this vicinity. It will offer bespoke advice and assistance to promote good oral health care within identified adult residential settings, which support older people and those with physical, mental, and learning difficulties.
This scheme involves an oral health training session, which is delivered to the appointed oral health champion within each home, along with supporting documentation, which they can use to cascade this information back to the rest of the team, by using a train the trainer approach.
The oral health champions from each home will join a small steering group, where they can share good practice and create new effective ways of approaching oral hygiene with their service users. These sessions will be arranged as regular meetings and oral health updates, so that everyone can discuss their positive outcomes, as well as focusing on areas for improvement.
All our training can be delivered either face to face or on Microsoft Teams. We can fit around any Covid or other restrictions on your site.
