Special Schools

Oral Health Promotion is currently delivered via microsoft Teams throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire. Training is offered to all staff and children throughout the school and in residential units, if applicable.

This training package includes awareness and practical training for schools participating in the Brush Bus Programme and general dental health education sessions for children and staff. The team provide oral health training and work multi-professionally with the school nurse (and specialist nurse if necessary) and the Home/School Liaison Officer, and have recieved great feedback on the service:

Feedback from a recent school session "A lovely pleasant lady who spoke to the children at the right level. A relaxed lesson letting the children freely speak about oral health. I particularly like how sugar was shown in the different foods we eat, it makes the children see how much sugar and it shockes them"
