Stop smoking for the sake of your teeth!

City Health Care Partnership CIC's oral health team spent No Smoking Day (8 March) in Goole town centre with the East Riding health promotion team to talk to the public about the effects of smoking on oral health, including the risk of mouth cancer. 

Tracey Wiles, oral health educator, was delighted with the success of the day. "We spoke to over 70 people, with some signing up for health trainer services and three to local dentists. We gave out leaflets, free toothbrushes and toothpaste and information about local dental services as well as advice on how to check yourself for mouth cancer. 

"We were very encouraged by how many people came up to talk to us and we look forward to doing more events like this in the future."
